5 days from Casablanca to Merzouga Desert

Day 1 CASABLANCA AIRPORT TO FES

Our English-speaking driver will meet you at Mohamed 5 airport in Casablanca and drive to Fes. If you arrive in the morning, you will visit Casablanca’s most prominent monument, the Hassan 2 Mosque. Work to build this mosque began in 1980. It was built right next to the Atlantic Ocean. The entire structure, covering a total area of 24,000 square meters, is designed on a gigantic scale. The prayer hall seats 25,000 worshippers, with space for another 80,000 pilgrims to pray on the esplanade. A cultural center, with a library, museum and Koranic school, adjoins the main building. After visiting this vast building, drive to the Corniche, which is surrounded by an uninterrupted stretch of beaches, swimming pools, cafes, hotels and restaurants, and then drive directly to Fez. Overnight in Fez, you will have time to see the famous Bab Boujloud gate to enjoy the ancient architecture of Fez. And wander around for a while. Overnight in a riad in the medina.

Day 2 FES TO MERZOUGA THROUGH MEDINA, ERRACHDIA, RISSANI THEN MERZOUGA

Early in the morning, you will start the drive from Fes to Merzouga, the desert. You will have a stop in Ifrane, the city of Swiss Moroccan style, and through the cedar forest, where you will have a stop to see the Barbary monkeys. Climbing trees and around 12 pm you will arrive in Midelt, the capital of apples. Have lunch in a local restaurant. then continue the trip to the Tizi-n-Tlghamt pass and cross the Ziz valley with its fantastic gorges, through the gorges you will stop for breaks and pictures. This valley is also known for its palm grove and agriculture of different crops such as Alfalfa, barely, etc. you will get from Erfoud with countless ‘ksars’, small villages of individual houses. In addition, Erfoud is the place where the festival of dates is held in October each year and also one of the fossils. and in the afternoon, you will reach the unique sand dunes of Merzouga. Overnight in a Berber tent in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Day 3 SAHARA DESERT TO FES THROUGH THE VALLEY ZIZ, ERRACHIDIA, MIDELT, CEDAR FOREST AND IFRANE

Early in the morning, it would be good to get up around 6:00 am for the sunrise. And after watching it, you will return to your hotel for breakfast and shower. Then, you will travel to the Dades valley. through Rissani, Erfoud, also through many Berber towns and villages. But on the way you will go to the Todra Gorges. It is one of the most impressive places in Morocco. Todra Gorges is also a good place to hike for a few hours and see the nomads coming down from the mountain to collect water from the Gorges. Then you will have lunch in a local restaurant inside or outside the Gorges to go out to the Dades Valley. Overnight in a hotel in the Dades Gorges or in the valley of the roses.

Day 4 DADES GORGES TO MARRAKECH VIA AIT BENHADDOU AND THE ALTAS ALTAS

This day is dedicated to begin your journey to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains. You will start in the valley of the roses. If it is spring, you will enjoy the flowers and visit one of the places where they are distilled. Continue your journey to the palm oasis of Skoura. In Skoura you will see a 17th century Kasbah, Kasbah Meridel, which you will continue to the Moroccan Hollywood, Ouarzazate. Here, you will visit the UNESCO world heritage site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. In typical Moroccan fashion, the real treasures are to be sought and discovered … usually off the beaten track. In fact, this setting has been used for more movies than any other place in Morocco, gladiators, the kingdom of heaven and, recently, shooting games. In the afternoon, you will be dropped off at your riad / hotel.

Day 5 TRANSFER TO MARRAKECH AIRPORT OR CASABLANCA AIRPORT

Today we transfer you to the airport.
